Biography

Rune Leicht Lund is a young soloist and chamber musician who has won several prizes in both national and international piano competitions.

At the age of 10 he won his first international piano competition (Stockholm International Music Competition). Latest he received the 3rd award and special prize for the best interpretation of the sonata in b-minor by Franz Liszt and special prize for the best interpretation of a classical sonata (Waldstein sonata op 53 by Beethoven) at the ”10th International Franz Liszt piano competition” Weimar/Bayreuth in October 2021, and 3rd award at the ”12th International Rosario Marciano piano competition” Vienna in August 2023.

He has played countless concerts in concert halls and at music festivals in many countries, for instance: Konzerthaus Berlin, Rheingau Musik Festival, Laeiszhalle Hamburg, Tivoli’s Concert hall and the Danish Radio Concert Hall, Copenhagen.

At the age of 12, Rune had his debut as a soloist in the 2nd piano concerto by Ludwig van Beethoven with The Danish Sinfonietta (Randers), Aarhus Symphony Orchestra (Aarhus) and The Danish National Symphony Orchestra (Copenhagen) and he has since appeared as a soloist with Torun Symphony Orchestra, Staatskapelle Weimar and Odense Symphony Orchestra.

Rune has participated in a lot of master classes with among others: Eugen Indjic, Kevin Kenner, Andrzej Jarsinski, Ewa Poblocka, Tatiana Zelikman, Lilya Zilberstein and Leslie Howard. He was selected as a scholarship holder at the summer school of the international Lieven piano foundation in 2021.

After studies at the Gradus Piano School with Martin Lysholm Jepsen, Rune went to Vienna in February 2020, where he has studied with Professor Jura Margulis ever since.

Rune is supported by the Jacob Gade foundation, and he is the recipient of Betty and Valdemar Van Hauens grant. He played the piano concerto no 9 by W.A.Mozart, jeunehomme at the prize ceremony in Tivoli’s concert hall, Copenhagen on the 1st. of June 2022.
